The glass is half ..... ???

There is a force and an energy in each and every one of us. We are all operating at the frequency we transmit. Some of us may not even be aware of the effect this has on our lives and those around us. But we should be. This is the heartbeat of our universe and the foundation of the life we (yes we) create for ourselves.

Whoa ... too heavy? Sorry ... but when considering  the myriad  (that word just reminds me of the movie Heathers) of topics I want to blog about, I knew my first post should hold some weight. I assume not all of them will be substantial. There will be plenty of "this pancake recipe came out great" or "try this new way to organize your tank tops". But today I want to share what I feel is the single most important key to living a life in balance. That my friends .... is .... the proper attitude.

Our perspective on life determines our reality. Simple and true. We see things as we want to. That's why they say there is always 3 sides to every story. But imagine if we made a conscious choice to see the lesson in any given challenge? Or the 1 or 2 good things that happened on a horrible day? You know what would happen? You'd ultimately be a lot happier. Because when you focus on what is working or what did go well, you shift your reality to create more of it. And who couldn't use more good things? Well the good news is we all have this "power" to create a happier reality. Here are my suggestions to achieve it:

1. Practice Gratitude. Every night when you lay your head down challenge yourself to list as many things you're grateful for that day. It could be as simple as the hot shower and cup of coffee you enjoyed in the morning. Or as substantial as the gift of another day that ended with your family safe and healthy tucked in their beds. Focusing on what you are thankful for will manifest more blessings in the days to come. Promise.

2. Stay Active. Mentally and physically. Stay productive and never stop learning. There is opportunity in every day to contribute in a way that will serve you.

3. Eat, Sleep, and Drink. Simple necessities we not only need to survive, but are essential to thrive. When we are properly fueled, hydrated and rested we have an "edge" on life. Making yourself a priority to have this "trifecta" (in the proper quantities) is essential and empowering. It's amazing how our mental health depends on these 3 elements.

4. Help Others. Simple. Get outside of your own head and problems and put your efforts into helping others. There are millions of opportunities around you every day to do something to help someone else. I promise you .... dedicate yourself and you'll find yourself.

5. Mind your Mind. Remember no one is perfect. We're all just doing the best we can. Standing in judgement of others (or ourselves) is a toxic practice that only perpetuates more negativity into your reality. Staying on top of your thoughts (and especially your words) causes a chain reaction in your life. So make sure what you think or say is true, necessary and  kind.

That's it for today folks. Hope you're able to enjoy your day! It's finally warming up in these parts. Would love to hear your thought on the subject, so please feel free to leave your comments below. I'll read them all, promise. Here's to another day closer to a life in balance ....
